AGRD Partners, a private equity-powered group of European law firms, announces today that leading Icelandic law firm BBA//Fjeldco has joined the group. The acquisition is AGRD Partners’ first investment outside Sweden and marks the next step in its Nordic and international expansion.
BBA//Fjeldco is a top-tier, full-service law firm with particular strength in M&A, capital markets, banking and corporate finance, energy and PFI projects, alongside general corporate and commercial matters. It is ranked by Chambers as a ’Leading firm in Europe 2026’, with multiple ranked practices and operations across Iceland, as well as an additional office in the UK. The firm’s international experience and expertise in cross-border matters make it well positioned to play an important part in AGRD Partners’ ambitious growth strategy.
The addition represents a significant milestone in AGRD Partners’ story, bringing the group beyond its initial Swedish base and into a new market. It follows the group’s formation in 2025 and subsequent expansion with the additions of Wigge and Bokwall Rislund in January 2026 and signals the start of a broader expansion drive across the Nordic region.
“BBA//Fjeldco is a highly regarded, well-run and entrepreneurial firm with a strong position in the top segment of the Icelandic market. The firm is a good cultural fit for AGRD Partners, sharing our ambitious approach to collaboration and innovation, and we’re delighted to welcome them to the group,” said Maria-Pia Hope, Group CEO of AGRD Partners.
“Iceland is an important market within the Nordic region, with a healthy economic outlook and growing legal sector, making this a strategic investment for AGRD Partners. We are seeing increasing interest in our model across multiple markets, reflecting broader changes in the legal sector, and clear opportunities to scale in the Nordics and beyond.”
“BBA//Fjeldco has always focused on building a high-quality, internationally oriented practice. Joining AGRD Partners allows us to take that further, giving us access to critical resources—especially leading-edge technology and AI—while allowing us to maintain our identity,” said Halldór Karl Halldórsson, Managing Partner at BBA//Fjeldco. “Our decision to join AGRD Partners was in part driven by its ambition to be at the forefront of legal tech and AI innovation and we are excited to be part of the journey.”
As with other AGRD Partners member firms, BBA//Fjeldco will continue to operate with its own name and brand, while participating in shared initiatives and infrastructure via the platform. This includes coordinated investment in technology and AI across the group, enabling firms to enhance service delivery and remain at the forefront of developments in the legal sector.
The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals. AGRD Partners continues to explore opportunities for further expansion across the Nordic region.
